Established in 1994, the B-Boy Summit became a cornerstone of hip-hop culture, uniting b-boys, b-girls, DJs, MCs, and graffiti artists from around the world. The documentary features in-depth interviews with prominent figures, including Asia One, the event's visionary founder and a trailblazing b-girl; Easy Roc, who represented the legendary Rock Steady Crew for nearly two decades; and Damita Jo Freeman, a pioneering dancer known for her groundbreaking performances on Soul Train and influence on dance culture. Additional voices include DJ J. Rocc of the Beat Junkies, Richie Rich of Rock Steady Crew, and rising stars like Ladie One and Aiko among many others. These perspectives, along with never-before-seen footage, paint a vivid picture of the Summit's cultural impact and enduring legacy.
Adding to the anticipation, For The Culture: The B-Boy Summit Story will feature an exclusive anthem created by Wildchild of Lootpack, bringing his signature sound to celebrate the essence of the Summit. Executive producer Bryan Mendoza leads the project, with Christopher Rosenblum directing and Asia One and Justin Chambers (Grey's Anatomy) producing.
