So Rugged Soul Records' DJ Rob A and legendary emcee Masta Ace got together and music happened. And it's good. The digital album, "Put to Paper" dropped today and is now available through Rob A's Bandcamp, iTunes and Amazon and features explicit and clean versions of the title track, another Rob A solo track ("Still Have Strenf") as well as instrumentals for both. Back in the cassette days we called this a "Maxi Single", but I digress.




Rob A gives us a beat thats addictive and reminiscent of what you loved about 90's hip hop. Both emcees carry a similar flow/delivery on the title track which actually works really well. Described as a track "to break down the science of the hip hop music they have both appreciated for decades," "Put to Paper" isn't the longest track clocking in at just under the 3 minute mark, but it's a breath of fresh air against anything in rotation on the radio.
