Jill Scott's "Woman" Album Art & Release Date
When Jill Scott announced her 25-date summer tour last month, she mentioned that in addition to her staples, she'd be performing music from an upcoming fifth full-length studio album. While no details were available at the time, she recently came forth with an album title ("Woman"), release date (July 24th) and album artwork.
"Woman" will mark the singer/songwriter's Atlantic Records debut. The first single, "Fool's Gold", dropped just a couple of days before the tour dates in early May and is available on both iTunes and Amazon. Scott has described the new album as "classic Philly soul meets country rhythm served with captivating storytelling".
According to Billboard, "Woman" will bring the Philly songstress back together with writer Andre Harris of the production duo Dre & Vidal, a combination that's produced a number of gems including "A Long Walk" and "Love Rain". Also contributing to the album is Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter Aaron Pearce, who currently has songs from Ricky Martin and Pitbull both moving on the Billboard charts.
