Empress Black Omolo To Headline Aarhus' Bob Marley Celebration
Kenya's Empress Black Omolo will headline Aarhus' Bob Marley Celebration in Denmark.
Jam Link International, the organization responsible for Aarhus' Annual Bob Marley Celebration, has announced the full lineup for the 2024 staging. The event will deliver a mix of live music, sound-system juggling, and a digital exhibition centered on reggae music.
This year's main headliner is Kenyan reggae artist Empress Black Omolo, who is now based in Holland (Netherlands). Omolo officially entered the music scene in 2013 with the single Love Your Life. Since then, she has toured all over Europe and has done shows in Jamaica, Brazil, and other regions around the globe, thus cementing her name on the world stage.
In addition to Empress Black Omolo, the celebration will also feature Aarhus' local reggae ensemble, One Love Marley Band; selectors DJ Henning, Booyaka Sound, and Denali Crew; as well as a cultural presentation by Danish writer Henrik Baek.
The 2024 staging will be presented at Volume Village (located at Thomas Koppels Gade 201, 8000 Aarhus C) on Saturday, February 24, with a running time of 21:30 - 03:30.
Organizers have confirmed several of the region's top-tier reggae selectors: DJ Willy, Denali Sound & Crew, as well as veteran guest Booyaka Sound from Odense, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary.
Jam Link Intl.'s Bob Marley Celebration was first presented in 2015. Both local - Europe based - and international (Jamaica and other Caribbean nationals) reggae performers have graced its stage. Check out jamlinkintl.com for tickets and more information.
